Connor Bray and Garrett Braun are friends of 10+ years with a shared desire to improve their community. Garrett spent ten years prior to founding Darn Good Flooring as the director/founder of The Kiva Center, a non-profit outdoor education center dedicated to increasing social/emotional well-being for kids and families. In 2021, Connor and Garrett, and numerous other volunteers, founded Rocky Mountain Rites of Passage, a non-profit yearly rite of passage for teenage boys. The rite of passage gives teenage boys a break from screens, time in nature, and a collective witnessing of their unique gifts. The teenagers leave the long weekend with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence.

Darn Good Flooring makes yearly contributions to The Kiva Center and continues to support Rocky Mountain Rites by closing for the week of the rites of passage to manage the event.
